Parsley Essential Oil is obtained by steam distallation of the seeds.The major constituent of Parsley Seed is 'myristicain' levels of upto 85% recorded. Parsley Seed is far richer in oil than any other part of the plant, it is the most useful theraputicaly and has a lovely warm aroma.
Parsley Essential Oil is useful in massage to treat urinary tract problems.

Parsley was used in funeral rites by the Greeks; it was held sacred to Persephone. It was wound into funeral wreaths and used to decorate tombs. Though the plant has associations with death and is often regarded as evil, the Romans tucked a sprig into their togas every morning for protection.
