Ho Sho Essential Oil also known as Ho Leaf shares the same botanical name as Camphor however this oil is steam distilled from the leaves and Camphor is distilled from the wood. Camphor (white fraction) is regarded as the safer oil in aromatherapy as Ho Sho contains a small percentage of safrol so it needs to be diluted down in carrier oil before use to be on the safe side.
Botanical Name: Cinnamomum Camphora

Origin: China

This aside the smell of Ho Sho is sweet, fresh, floral and earthy and is used in the perfume industry I think because it has a similar smell to Rosewood and is far more cost efficient.

Ho Sho is useful for treating aching muscles, the smell alone is so soothing on the mind, almost having a gentle sedative action in the process and looking at the chemistry of the oil it contains linalool, nerol, cineole and geraniol.

This would blend really well with Lavender, Rosewood and Eucalyptus and contribute very well to providing the ultimate relaxing body massage.
