Rosalina Essential Oil is native to Australia and belonging to the Myrtaceae family, Rosalina grows in abundance along the eastern and cooler parts of the state along creek and river flats and in swamps. Also found along the coast. Rosalina can exist in dry and waterlogged soils and under low to moderate salinity regimes. I personally would describe the smell as a cross between Cajaput and Rosewood, it has that piercing fresh scent with rosy and ever so slightly woody back notes. Honestly this oil is a total must have for any aromatherapy enthusiast.
Botanical Name: Melaleuca Ericifolia

Origin: Australia

This essential oil is sold under numerous names including Swamp Paper Bark, Rosalina, Tea Tree Linalool and Lavender Tea Tree. We love the name Rosalina so naturally we are selling under this name but they are all one and the same.

If we look at the natural chemistry it is very similar to Tea Tree, Melaleuca Alternifolia with one key difference, the 40 % of terpin 4 OL found in Tea Tree is hardly present in Melaleuca Ericifolia instead the major constituent is Linalool, accounting for upto 55% and 1-8 Cineole accounting for upto 25% of the oil. There are in excess of another 100 constituents accounting for the remaining 20% of the oil.

Uses in aromatherapy, due to 1-8 Cineole content it is outstanding for aiding those with breathing difficulties such as Asthma – and I’m speaking from experience, along with Lime and Frankincense Rosalina is really helping me breathe easily, no wheezing, no coughing just easy breathing. It is very useful as an alternative to Clove Bud for treating tooth ache. Also the addition of the linalool means this oil is soothing on the mind, helping create a very calm and tranquil environment, therefore it could be a useful sleep aid.
