Copaiba is a very useful resinous oil that smells divine and does not get the credit or attention it wholeheartedly deserves. I personally love the smell, the texture, the way it adds so much value to my own blends. The aroma it exudes is warm and inviting with a slightly sweet honey note running throughout. Personally speaking I think it serves more purpose when used with other oils opposed to on its own. It blends great with other resinous oils such as Benzoins, Myrrh and Amyris Balsamifera and a whole host of citrus oils as well.
Botanical Name: Copaifera Officinalis

Origin: Brazil

The biggest producer is South America and my oil comes from Maranhao in Brazil. Technically speaking it is not actually a resinoid because looking at the natural chemistry it contains no benzoic acid, either way though it is jam packed with beta caryophyllene at nearly 50% of the oil (commonly found in clove oils) and along with the rest of its natural chemistry it lends itself well to killing germs, healing wounds, reducing inflammation and providing pain relief. Blended in carrier oil it can be considered a useful and effective way to treat piles.

Safety Data: When diluted down in carrier oil (2% to 98% in this instance) it can be considered safe, however I would still encourage blending it with other essential oils and then blending it in carrier oil prior to use as this is how you will really obtain the therapeutic benefits. Clearly if you are using this oil for natural perfumery reasons then discard this safety data.
