Birch Sweet Essential Oil is commonly used to relieve pain and excels at treating sore muscles, sprains and painful joints because of its' anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic properties. Methyl Salicylate works by passing through the skin and entering the tissues where it inhibits the formation of prostaglandins, thereby reducing inflammation and pain very quickly.

Truly stunning, Birch Sweet Essential Oil has a similar natural chemistry to Wintergreen. The main constituent is Methyl Salicylate and this is a superb pain reliever with an almost addictive aroma BUT it can be lethal so handle with care and dilute down well before massage, accounting for no more than 2-3% of any massage blend.
The aroma is incredibly fresh, slightly sweet with a light iced mint note and is useful for treating sinus conditions. Blends brilliantly with Eucalyptus Globulus, Eucalyptus Radiata and Ravensara.
Birch Sweet is steam distilled from the bark of the tree which is a very time consuming process and is clear to light yellow in colour.
