Safety Data: Aniseed Essential Oil (Pimpinella Anisum) should not be used at all by those that are pregnant or by the inexperienced in aromatherapy. Under no circumstances should this oil ever be used neat on the skin or inhaled from the bottle for more than a few minutes although if possible........
I’d actually advise against inhaling from the bottle as after a minute or so it can result in a pounding headache which leaves you feeling rather confused, disorientated and slightly low in yourself.

Origin: Spain

Botanical Name: Pimpinella Anisum

So again I repeat not for the inexperienced at all, if you like the smell a safer alternative is Anise Star which has some similarities chemically speaking and which contains the prized Shikimic Acid, commonly used in most flu remedies. Also Anise Star (illicum Verum) has a smell of Aniseed due to the high Anethol content (also found in Fennel). So if you are planning to treat a certain condition and have been advised to use Aniseed (Pimpinella Anisum) then I’d suggest you re- consider and try to find another alternative first which will more than likely exist. You will actually find very few businesses who sell Pimpinella Anisum and nearly every book written seem to advise totally against it.. So if you are unsure after reading this then I’d suggest you don’t purchase this.

Diluted down heavily in carrier oil (max 0.50% Pimpinella Anisum to 99.50% Carrier Oil) Aniseed can be considered extremely useful for treating muscular aches and pains, rheumatism, bronchitis, whooping cough, colic, cramp, flatulence, indigestion, catarrh and hangovers.
