Chilli Seed, vibrant red in colour and obtained by steam distilling the seeds. Chilli Seed contains Capsaicin, which in trials has shown signs of reducing inflammation and possessing pain relieving qualities. In massage this could be an excellent alternative for therapists using Wintergreen
or Sweet Birch
to treat Arthritis (both contain Methal Salycitate). The synergistic effects of Methal Slycitate combined with Capsaicin may provide pain relief for a longer period.
Botanical Name: Capsicum annum
Safety Data: It is important to state that you must dilute this down heavily in carrier oil should you use it in massage, failure to do so will result in a very warm and burning sensation on the area applied. If this should happen flood the area with carrier oil until the sensation has passed.
