Skip to contentArctander has this to say “Thyme absolute is very viscous, dark green liquid or a semi-solid mass. Its odor is very deep-herbaceous, sweet and somewhat green with a rich, spicy undertone and faintly medicinal, but pleasant bodynote. This product is useful in perfumery for its peculiar effect which is entirely different from that of the thyme oil. In traces, the absolute can introduce beautifully natural notes in jasmin, hyacinth, violet, etc, and it lends a rich herbaceous note in fougere, chypre, colognes, etc, where it blends well with citrus oils, lavender, oakmoss, patchouli, isobornylacetate, etc.”
The 10ml retail volume of thyme absolute is provided diluted at 50% in ethanol and of a pourable viscosity. The 100G wholesale weight is sold pure and will benefit from bain-marie prior to use.
Botanical Name: Thymus vulgaris

Green Herbal Gentleman
I know the essentail oils with their different chemotypes, both are diffusive and have a lot of power:
Linalool – bitter, green, herbaceous and floral at the same time.
Thymol – which is much stronger and really feels like a bitter herbaceous slap in the face, with a run-up.
I almost skipped this Absolute, but luckily I tried it out, and it’s a little surprising.
It also starts dark, bitter green, herbaceous, but gentle, subdued, balanced. Nearly a warm feeling.
Gives me pictures of a soft green forest floor.
It gets a bit spicy in the middle.
In the base note it clears up and reminds me a bit of Nagarmotha.
Nice welcome to green and forest blends.
