Balsam Tolu Absolute is mainly used as a fixative for perfumers and it adds great value when trying to create exotic floral scents. The smell is reminiscent of Benzoin and Peru Balsam, largely because the chemistry is not overly different. It contains benzyl-benzoate, benzyl-cinnamate and benzoic acid amongst other constituents.
Botanical Name: Myroxylon Balsamum

Origin: France

Therapeutically due to the thickness of this resinous oil you will need to submerge the bottle in hot water for up to 20 minutes before it becomes pourable. Once soluble I would encourage adding upto 5 drops in an oil burner to soothe sore throats and coughs. Diluted down in carrier oil this makes an effective chest rub that aids breathing.
