Tonka Bean Absolute has a very interesting aroma. I would describe the smell as a sweet vanilla crossed with amaretto liqueur and caramel, I instantly think of Christmas when I smell this oil.The large seeds which are known as tonka beans are solvent extracted producing oil which is of a sandy beige colour and of a very thick consistency. If you submerge the bottle in hot water for 10-15 minutes it becomes pourable.
