Benzoin Absolute (red crystalline)

Benzoin Absolute

Benzoin Absolute is a bit of a confusing subject as all benzoin material is solvent extracted so technically speaking I could and maybe should sell the two benzoin variants found in my essential oil selection as absolutes like most of my UK competitors. The reason why I don't and what sets this material apart from the other two I offer is the quality of the solvents used to obtain the benzoin. In this instance a far more nature identical solvent is used where as the other two materials are extracted via the use of much cheaper solvents and diluted down in dpg to make them both easy to work with.
Botanical Name: Styrax Benzoin

Origin: Siam

This genuine Benzoin Absolute Oil maybe known by some as red crystalline due to the solid crystal texture of this material which is actually a good way to differentiate between the available benzoins, the other two I offer are always of a goo-ey consistency at room temperature.

If you are an aromatherapist I'd encourage you to forget this and stay with the materials found within the essential oil pages as its no easy task working with this and so I would only recommend this to the natural perfumer, an exceptional fixative that is one of the finest smelling benzoins I've encountered to date.

This product is a thick material and we supply it in an amber glass jar.
